3AA920 880H SW 0505 HW H05

Hello everybody,
I found a used 3AA920 880H SW 0505 HW H05 instrument cluster but before I buy it I would like to know if is somehow possible to convert this 2D color cluster to 3D. I know that there is a tiguan firmware (5N0920883H__1104_S(0611).odx) that can convert SW 0611 clusters to 3D and also removes immo protection (as far I know my 2011 B7 had no immo on the original 3AA920 870 A cluster). On this forum I read that all color clusters can be converted to 3D, is it true? Do I need a special firmware for a SW 0505 or the conversion is just not possible? Thank you.

This is not possible
You will need 611 version
Hardware and screen is different

Thank you for your reply, in the meanwhile I was able to reach the user that wrote that all versions can be converted and he told me about the lcd swap. Now I found a 3AA920880N SW 0611 HW H04 (that I can upgrade to 3D with VCP and 5N0920883H__1104_S(0611).odx) and a 3C8920880R SW 0705 HW H03 (already 3D). The question is if I want to upgrade the 880R from 0705 to 1104 can I still use the tiguan file? I ask because on osotec the last available firmware for 3C8920880R is 0705, there is no upgrade to 1104. Thank you.

In what car wil the cluster be used?
Passat or Tiguan?

I used also 5N0 firmware to flash my 3AA cluster. Before you flash, you must back-up the settings.
these you can use to make the cluster again a 3C8 cluster

Yes, I know the procedure on 0611. The question was if it works also on 0705 clusters (already 3D but the first version) because on osotec the last firmware version for 3C8920880R is 0705.Anyway i think I will skip this cluster too and I will buy a 3AA920880P 0611. I know that is a bifuel cluster and I need to swap the RPM/temperature plate but is cheaper than a 3AA920880N.

Do find a good basic version settings as bifuel has some issues with several screens missing, such as fuel consumption / averige speed.

I didn't know it, I thought that with a Tiguan flash and CC eeprom my only problem was the RPM scale / temperature gauge and the different color of a few led (no other hardware differences). With 5N0920883H__1104_S(0611).odx and 3C8920881A_04_1104.bin will I miss fuel consumption and average speed? Thank you.

If you will use a good bin file with the appropriate settings you won’t miss the screens

I had the same issue with a black/white bifuel cluster of passat. Was original with suffix H. After installing bin file suffix G and clearing errors it worked perfect
