Audi A3 White/Red clusters

Post by djdvr » 20 Feb 2019 20:00

Hey,

Any news on supporting the Audi clusters as well ? I know the structures of the 24c32 is different but was looking to see if there is any plans at least to support them as well.

Thank you

Audi clusters already are supported, but ONLY NEC850 based.
Other types of clusters are not planned for realization in near future

I would be glad to do it. New core of VDOeditor is very flexible to be adjusted for any type of clusters. But I have no one dashboard for test and no info about this type of clusters.
If somebody will provide info and ready to be testers I am opened for dialog.

I've found the right speedometer scale (i Hope), but i think the problem is in the checksum, because i also get DEF in my dashboard when I edit the parameter.

first scale start at 0002C0 and second 0002D0 (8x1 16bit)

I file for example in attachment

It's good beginning. I made just few modifications in source code and speedometer was successfully loaded and rendered. Ignore some missed data like (HW, SW or test point).

To try find out CRC more dumps are required.

WOW

Really nice work!

My problem is this: I updated my tacho SW to RS3 one's (oil temp, boost, staging and lap time) but now speedometer is no correct...

I tried to copy only this 2 addresses but when I write new dump I get DEF in the odometer.
I also tried to change some coding after that hoping an automatic checksum after the coding, but in my case doesn't worked.

However on VDO Editor could be interesting find right place to active only staging, or lap timer and rs3 menù.

Thanks for your time!

Marco

As I wrote early I have no dumps or cluster from micronas and couldn't help with investigation. But You have at least two dumps, so if you want, you can go ahead.
Try to locate offset of important area (milage, immo ). You can do it by writing partial dump. For example, you write whole 4096 bytes from other dump and, of course, get err.
Ok, next time write just first 2048 bytes from original dump and last 2048 from other.
If err, decrease to 1024...
After several tries you will get approx range of important area, that should be untached.
After this you can do additional test to locate speedometer CRC more accurately.

Additional I could make dump with swapped scale, because structure of speedometer is absolutely clear. There is stepper, value and layuot data and config section like Nec850. But I am sure that without CRC this mod will not be useful for you.

I'll try to post my original dump, and rs3 one and tell you what I have done until now.
See you soon
