I am rather new to the Golf clusters, much more used to the Audi cluster where the SW does not play a role so don't be mad if I ask a stupid question.
I just looked at a 2001 Golf 5k0920872A cluster with H03 SW0607.
Fuel to replenish works but staging does not. Can I Update the SW to a working state or just crossflash one of the whitelist 872 eeproms from the database ? Or is it just not going to work ?
Cheers,

Never mind it seems the cluster wanted a complete power off and then back on to work correctly.
Only 1 thing remained weird and that is that the needle sweep works the first time with ignition and then only after locking and unlocking the car.
Anyone else seen this ?

Solved second question as well apparently VW cluster do staging/needle sweep 1 time per open cycle of the car so you need to open close the car to make it do it again.
Audi clusters do it every time.
Audi clusters do it every time.
